Dissecting scissors are an important tool for medical professionals and a mandatory part of the surgical tray. Dissecting scissors have a range of uses, including spreading and probing incisions, cutting stitches, and removing flaps of skin and other tissue.

Dissecting scissors have curved or flat blades. Curved blades allow surgeons to easily view the incision while using the scissors. Straight blades are very sharp at the tips.
