Handles with rubber grips will prove to be much easier to handle and will help prevent dangerous slips.

These types of medical scissors are also commonly found in households. They are sharper and allow for more precise, accurate cutting than regular household scissors are capable of. 

They should be replaced or sharpened frequently to increase functionality. Sharp scissors produce clean incisions; therefore, dull dissection scissors are a hazard during surgical procedures.

Dissecting instruments should be sanitized before and after every use. They are often more useful than scalpels because they offer a mechanical leverage to the cutting blade while scalpels do not.
