National ScrubsIn order to help those in need easily distinguish who is there to help them, emergency responders wear an EMT uniform while they work. These uniforms are both professional and functional, helping soothe those in need through the calming appeal of having an obvious professional on hand.

They offer multiple pockets to easily store and access medical instruments, and they protect emergency responders from harmful substances and fluids by covering most of their bodies. These uniforms are usually made from a stain-resistant material and come in a dark color. EMT wear can protect emergency responders against blood-borne pathogens.

Most uniforms come in two parts: pants and shirts. Pants are made for either men or women. Pants come with anywhere from two to dozens of pockets, in cargo style. Shirts also come with a variety of pockets and are available with short or long sleeves. Some uniform material is available in stain-resistant, water-resistant and fire-resistant material.

EMT gear can also include jackets and shoes. Jackets and parkas also offer many pockets, are made from special material to resist water, stains, fire and contaminants, and often offer a reflective strip for safety in low-visibility areas. Shoes usually are ankle-high boots that offer protection and support. Jackets and shoes also come in men and women’s sizes.

Some EMT items are made specifically for emergency responders who travel by helicopter. These uniforms can function like flight uniforms.

EMT clothes can be purchased in bulk and decals or logos can be added during purchase or later.
