Emergency responders wear EMT uniforms while they work. EMT uniforms are professional and functional. They offer multiple pockets to easily store and access medical instruments, and they protect emergency responders from harmful substances and fluids by covering most of their bodies. EMT uniforms are usually made from a stain-resistant material and come in a dark color. EMT uniforms can protect emergency responders against blood-borne pathogens.

Most EMT uniforms come in two parts: pants and shirts. Pants are made for either men or women. Pants come with anywhere from two to dozens of pockets, in cargo style. Shirts also come with a variety of pockets and are available with short or long sleeves. Some uniform material is available in stain-resistant, water-resistant and fire-resistant material.

EMT uniforms can also include jackets and shoes. Jackets and parkas also offer many pockets, are made from special material to resist water, stains, fire and contaminants, and often offer a reflective strip for safety in low-visibility areas. Shoes usually are ankle-high boots that offer protection and support. Jackets and shoes also come in men and women’s sizes.

Some EMT uniforms are made specifically for emergency responders who travel by helicopter. These EMT uniforms can function like flight uniforms.
